Summer is here, which means strawberries are too! Here at Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard, we have a patch of strawberries that are ready to be picked. This Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Kimmel is hosting our annual Strawberry Festival, which means there will be fun for all ages! Come on out to our orchard and pick your own strawberries, or pick up some pre-picked ones in our Apple Barn. Also, in the Apple Barn, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can sample our strawberry wine, a new strawberry lemonade slushie recipe, and our limited-time strawberry donuts - if you love our apple donuts, wait until you try these!
In Kimmelās parking lot, there will be local farmerās market vendors, face-painting, and even someone to draw your caricature! From noon to 2 p.m., we will have live music for guests of all ages to enjoy. Our Strawberry U-Pick will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you get hungry for more than strawberries, there will also be a food truck ready to take your order. Unable to make it to our Strawberry Festival this weekend? Come on out to Kimmel for our Farmerās Market Series on June 19th and 26th, and we will have local farmerās market vendors here during the day.
If you are in the Lincoln area and are unable to get your apple donut fix for the weekend, we will be at the UNL Discovery Days & Farmerās Market, located on their East Campus Mall, on June 12th, July 10th, and August 14th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come say hi, buy some donuts, and learn more about our wedding venue and tours we have!
