Are you interested in learning how to efficiently grow a fruit tree for your yard or orchard? Want to know some inside tips and tricks to getting the best crop off your tree? On August 25th our Orchard Manager and Educational Team Leader, Vaughn Hammond, will be teaching a course on how to do all of this!
Vaughn will cover how to manage all of the Fruit Trees that can be growin in the Missouri Valley area. Apples, peaches, cherries, pears, and plums will all be covered during this course.
Some of the topics that will be covered will include site selection, varieties, orchard establishment, trellised trees, insects, disease, harvest, pruning, and more!
The day will begin in the classroom covering the most important topics concerning fruit growing. We will then move out into the orchard and walk through the different fruits for some up-close learning activities. Questions are encouraged! Breaks and lunch will be provided.
